Frequently Asked Questions
Are wood blinds good for privacy?
Yes. When the slats are tilted closed, wood blinds provide complete privacy. You can also adjust the angle to let filtered light in while still keeping prying eyes out. For maximum light blocking, add the de-Light™ feature.
Are wood blinds energy efficient?
Yes. Real wood is a natural insulator, and wood blinds help block UV rays and reduce solar heat gain. This can help lower your cooling bills, especially in sunny rooms. While they’re not as insulating as cellular and honeycomb shades, they do provide temperature regulation benefits.
Do wood blinds warp?
Quality hardwood blinds like Parkland® are treated with UV-protective finishes to resist warping, fading, and cracking. We don’t recommend wood blinds in high-moisture areas like bathrooms. Faux wood blinds are a better choice there.
How much do custom wood blinds cost?
It depends on window size, slat width, finish, and features like motorization. We’ll give you an exact quote after measuring your windows.
Can I get cordless wood blinds?
Yes! Cordless lift is a popular option for wood window blinds. It creates a clean look and is safe for homes with children and pets.
What's the difference between wood blinds and wood shades?
Wood blinds have horizontal slats that tilt for light control. Wood shades (like woven wood shades or Roman shades) are made from woven wood-like materials and operate differently. We’ll help you compare options in our showroom.
Do you install wood blinds in Omaha and Lincoln?
Yes. We custom-measure and install real wood blinds in Omaha, Lincoln, and the surrounding areas.
