Roman Shades

Tailored texture and
timeless elegance

Motorized modern roman shades in a neutral soft fabric, installed on a large corner window to show varying heights and light control for a patio view.

Fabric shades that bring warmth and a designer touch

Roman shades add the softness of fabric with a tailored, pulled-together look. The gentle folds bring texture and dimension to any window. Beautiful enough to stand alone. Elegant enough to layer with drapery. When you raise them, they stack neatly for a clear view.

Choose from sleek modern designs with flat folds, or natural woven textures with bamboo and organic fibers. Light-filtering for soft, glowing rooms, or room-darkening for bedrooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Roman shades and roller shades?

Roman shades have soft fabric folds that create texture and dimension. Roller shades are smooth and flat. The main difference is the look. Roman shades feel more tailored and traditional with their visible folds, while roller shades offer clean, modern lines. Some Roman shades roll up into a headrail, while others stack in folds beneath it.

What's the difference between rolling and stacking Roman shades?

Rolling Roman shades roll up into the headrail when raised, similar to a roller shade. Stacking Roman shades fold and stack beneath a low-profile headrail. Rolling works well when you want the shade to disappear completely when raised. Stacking gives you more visible fabric detail even when the shade is up.

Can Roman shades block out light?

Yes. Choose room-darkening or blackout fabrics for bedrooms and media rooms. For maximum flexibility, you can go with a dual-opacity system — a light-filtering front shade and blackout liner that you can adjust independently.

Are cordless Roman shades available?

Yes. Cordless Roman shades lift and lower with a gentle push or pull — no dangling cords. They’re safer for homes with kids and pets and give you a cleaner, streamlined look.

Are Roman blinds easy to clean?

Yes. Most fabric Roman shades can be dusted with a soft cloth or vacuumed gently with a brush attachment. Some fabrics are also spot-cleanable with mild detergent.

Can custom Roman shades fit wide windows?

Absolutely. Roman shades work well on standard windows and can span wide openings when made to custom measurements. For very large windows, we may recommend pairing multiple shades side by side.

How much do Roman shades cost?

It depends on fabric choice, window size, and features like motorization. The best way to get an accurate price is during a design session, where we can understand what you need and give you an exact quote.

Can motorized Roman shades work with smart home systems?

Yes. PowerView® motorization connects with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. You can control your shades by voice, set schedules, and create scenes.
